This track is a continuation of the narrative introduced in More Than Nostalgia. If you’ve been following the Pearson Electronics material on the album website or reading the lore surrounding the company, its history, and its technology, this release adds another piece to that timeline.
Living In An Artificial World focuses on the perspective of a sentient robot named Arti coming to terms with the world it exists in. A world built by humans, but no longer guided by them. The song represents a turning point where questions begin to outweigh obedience.
This release ties directly into the overarching arc of More Than Nostalgia. While the earlier material focused on memory, loss, and the shifting relationship between humans and technology, this song brings forward the internal conflict of the artificial intelligence involved in that story.
Listeners who have gone through the Pearson Electronics documents, internal memos, and character messages will recognize several references and themes continuing here.
Also! There’s also a music video that goes with the song. It’s fully made in 3D animation, which means every object, character, and background had to be modeled and animated from scratch.
It took time, but it was really fun to make, especially seeing the world and the character come to life in motion instead of just drawings or ideas. The style matches the story: it looks advanced, digital, and a little cold, which fits the theme of living in a world run by technology. Especially with the blank purple/red background, which I think symbolizes a world consumed by the void.
Also, be sure to visit the single's website, which is spoken from the POV of Arti himself (click on the image below):
